Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) is a scheme of the Government of India that provides financial protection to farmers against losses due to natural calamities. This scheme was launched in 2016.

Benefits

  1. Farmers get financial assistance in case of damage due to natural calamities.
  2. Protection from crop damage and support for sustainable agriculture.
  3. Reduced insurance premium (2% for Kharif, 1.5% for Rabi, 5% for commercial crops).

Eligibility

  1. Any registered farmer can apply.
  2. Farmers farming on lease are also eligible.
  3. Mandatory for farmers who have taken loans from banks, optional for others.

  1. Apply at the nearest bank, Common Service Center (CSC), or authorized insurance company office.
  2. You can apply online at the official website pmfby.gov.in
  3. Required documents: Aadhaar card, bank account details, Satbara statement, crop information.
