Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Shetkari Karjamukti Yojana

Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Loan Waiver Scheme  is a loan waiver scheme launched by the Maharashtra government for small and marginal farmers in the state. This scheme was launched in 2019 and aims to waive off the outstanding loans of farmers.

Objective

  1. To help farmers in financial distress by freeing them from debt and giving them a fresh start.
  2. To achieve economic development of rural areas by increasing agricultural production.
  3. To provide farmers with new opportunities to borrow.

Benefits

  1. Complete waiver of outstanding crop loans taken from 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2019.
  2. Direct benefit to small and marginal farmers.
  3. Farmers will have an opportunity to take new loans.

Eligibility

  1. Small landholders (with land up to 5 acres) and very small landholders (with land up to 2 acres) in Maharashtra are eligible.
  2. The loans of the concerned farmers should be taken from nationalized, cooperative or district central banks
  3. Government employees and taxpayers are not eligible.

How to apply?

  1. Beneficiary farmers should apply by visiting bank branches.
  2. Aadhar card, 7/12 statement, bank account details, loan documents are required for application.
