Baby Care Kit Plan

Beneficiaries: Women registered in Anganwadi Center and registered and delivered in Government Primary Health Center/Hospital (first delivery)
Description: As per the approval of the Government of Maharashtra, a baby care kit worth ₹2000 is provided free of cost for the newborn at the time of first delivery.

Objective

  1. Promotion of delivery in government health centres
  2. Reduction of infant mortality rate
  3. Maternal and newborn health care

Nature of the scheme

Materials included in the baby care kit

  1. Baby clothes, diapers, sleeping mat, towels
  2. Electronic thermometer, mosquito net, warm blanket
  3. Plastic mat, toys (puffs), nail clippers
  4. Gloves, socks, cloth for tying, woolen cloth for mother
  5. Small bag for storing materials

Criteria / Procedure

  1. A pregnant woman should apply at the nearest Anganwadi center in the 9th month.
  2. The Anganwadi worker provides the baby care kit to the beneficiary woman.
